The resource-based view refers that internal factors are more important than external factors, this give to a company sustaining competitive advantage in the industry. The organizational performance will primarily be determined by internal resources that are divided in 3 categories: physical, human and organizational resources.

This analysis is used to determine the competitive advantages, the internal view to compete with the external issues in the industry. The resources than a company could have are:

 

• Rare: That are not common in the industry

• In-imitable: That it’s only produced by one firm or owner of the resource

• Valuable: That it creates value to reduce a company own weaknesses

• Non- substitutable: even if the resource is rare, valuable, if it is imitable the competence will make a counter with a substitutable resource and the prices of the product will decrease and reduce the profit.

 

 

 

Physical Resources
